A Willful Woman…

Thoughts about books from a romance addict.

The Cake is a Lie

on October 13, 2013

Hey all — just a note to say I’m still alive. I’ve been on vacation and reading madly. Will I find the energy to write about any of it, with all the laundry to do? We shall see.  But I’ve caught up with so many books I’ve been wanting to read for years!  It was all too much for my Nook, which may have to buried ceremoniously in the e-waste pile.

I really need to start on a review book now, or at least my TRB challenge read, but how can I, right in the middle of The Sweet Gum Tree? Though I’m having trouble loving this or finding it a real tear-jerker, because it seems to me that almost all the sad things that happened are because the narrator was such an asshole.

Miss Bates Reads Romance

Miss Bates is Austen's loquacious spinster in Emma. No doubt Miss Bates read romances ... here's what she would've thought of them.
