The 12 Stress Free Days of Christmas? Day 1

on December 26, 2014

Someone proposed on twitter that they were going to spend the 12 days of Christmas reading whatever they want, effort- and guilt-free. Sounds good to me! (They also said list- free but what’s the fun in that? I’m just going to make a few notes unless I feel like more, though.)

It actually takes some effort to tear my mind away from reviewing and responsibilities and figure out what I want to read. I started and discarded so many books today. Hopefully I’ll be a pro again by January 6th.

The Hidden Blade by Sherry Thomas. Terribly sad. I can’t wait til the main characters meet in My Beautiful Enemy… or rather, I can wait,  because I have a badly formatted ARC and am going to wait on a library copy.

I am so glad that I read Hidden Blade before My Beautiful Enemy–it made second story so much richer for me. (Confession–I am a fangirl of Ms. Thomas’ writing and will gladly read anything she writes.)
Good luck with the rest of your stress-free reading! I am a firm believer in reading for pleasure–life is too short to turn your entertainment into a chore.

Miss Bates Reads Romance

Miss Bates is Austen's loquacious spinster in Emma. No doubt Miss Bates read romances ... here's what she would've thought of them.
