A Willful Woman…

Thoughts about books from a romance addict.

PoMo Promo

Well — not really. I just like cute blog titles; so sue me.

Karen Knows Best is going to be hosting Julia Spencer-Fleming on Wednesday October 9th.  The next book in her Clare and Russ mystery series, Through the Evil Days, is coming out on November 5th. If you’ve read the last book, this should be kind of a big one. If you haven’t, I won’t spoil anything. They’re mysteries with a strong forbidden love romantic element; an awesome wallow if you like that kind of thing.

I’m having a sort of personal Sunrise/Sunset moment, because Spencer-Fleming was on the blog back in 2011 and I commented on the thread and then went on to actually read the first book in the series. (I loved it, and proceeded to devour them all. Is this the little reader I carried? How cute I was, actually having time to catch up on every book in a new series.) And about a year after that, Karen asked me to join her blog!  I guess that was a particularly awesome comment.

Anyway, if you’re a fan or want to check the series out, join us on the 9th.

(Just for the record, I get no compensation of any kind for mentioning this. I did receive an e-arc of the book from NetGalley.)

Miss Bates Reads Romance

“Miss Bates…had never boasted either beauty or cleverness. Her youth had passed without distinction, and her middle of life was devoted to the care of a failing mother, and the endeavour to make a small income go as far as possible. And yet she was a happy woman..." Emma, Jane Austen
